As of 18-October-2011, the HARDRANGE.COM web shop is off-line for maintenance and site upgrades.

Why?

  1. The current site structure has developed 'organically' (a polite way of say 'too big too fast') over the past 18 months or so and is reaching a point where it is difficult to manage as a hobby business.

  2. Order fulfilment and processing is manually intensive, and needs improvement.

  3. Neither Andy or Paul have the time they would love to dedicate to Hard Range and still keep their day jobs... and families.

  4. The new site structure aims to streamline operations, enabling us to serve you better while allowing us to 'have a life' of our own. We want time to enjoy our Landies too!

Your Questions Answered

Why did I get redirected to HRA4x4.COM?

  1. This site is one of a number of domains we own that usually redirect to hardrange.com

  2. The main hardrange.com site is currently not available to the public due to the upgrades in progress.

How long will you be off-line?

  1. As long as it takes to get the new site running properly.

  2. We hope this will be no more than a couple of weeks.

Can I still buy stuff while the site is off-line?

  1. Yes, we will still maintain a small eBay Store which will remain operational. If there are unforeseen difficulties with the new site, we may expand the range of products sold through eBay as a longer-term measure.

  2. We can quote on products and shipping via e-mail.

  3. You can give us a call to place an order manually.

  4. We can still accept payment by PayPal, direct deposit and credit card.

So how do I contact you?

  1. Call Andy or Paul on their mobile phones.

  2. If the usual email address does not work, we have set up a temporary email through info.hardrange@gmail.com

  3. Send a private message to PaulP38a or Andrew E through the Australian Land Rover Owners Forums at http://aulro.com or RangeRovers.net Forums at http://rangerovers.net

I already have an order with you, what will happen to it?

  1. Don't worry, all in-progress orders have either been shipped or are being processed (i.e. Hard Range Roo Bars and Lift Kits)

  2. The invoice we sent you at time of ordering has our phone numbers on it. Give us a call if you are concerned.

Did you say this is a hobby business?

  1. Absolutely! Call it a hobby business, cottage industry, whatever... we are Land Rover/ Range Rover enthusiasts who have day jobs to pay the mortgage and feed our families.
  2. We may be small but we take it seriously. Hard Range Australia Pty Ltd is an Australian registered privately held company with all the same legal compliance and financial reporting obligations that larger companies have.
  3. We got tired of paying main dealer prices for simple fixes and parts, and found a better way to do it ourselves.
  4. We don't try to compete with the big resellers and main dealers. They are geared towards corporate lease vehicles, we aim to help fellow enthusiasts who are prepared to give it a go themselves.
  5. We 'eat our own dog food' meaning that the stuff we sell is the stuff we use ourselves. We don't carry products that we wouldn't use on our own vehicles to carry our families about.
  6. Our business is about getting good quality, reasonably priced parts for our own vehicles and helping other Land Rover/ Range Rover owners maintain theirs at a reasonable price.
